Before its 2006 session ends Aug. 31, the California Assembly is set to vote on a historic global warming bill that will put a mandatory limit on greenhouse gas pollution in the state, reducing emissions to 1990 levels by the year 2020. This limit is essential to the state because global warming pollution is expected to have a devastating impact on California's economy, environment, and public health if aggressive action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is not taken soon.
