New Legislation Strikes at the Heart of America’s Safety Net for Wildlife

This past week, Rep. Richard Pombo (R-Calif.) introduced his deceptively named “Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Act.” Pombo’s bill would gut the Endangered Species Act on behalf of greedy developers, oil companies, timber companies, mining companies and extreme property rights groups. The bill will be up for a vote by all representatives on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives next week. It is critical that members of Congress stand up for our natural heritage and the Endangered Species Act. Please contact your representative and urge them to oppose Pombo’s bill.
