City of Dixon Drinking Water Warning

Some Dixon residents are being urged to boil their tap water after their local water provider detected E.coli bacteria in water samples.
E.coli can cause gastrointestional illness.

The affected areas are:
Country Fair subdivision
Dixon May fairgrounds
East and West A Street on the north, the South Porter Road railroad tracks on the west, East and West Cherry Street on the south, and South Third Street on the east

Customers in the affected areas should boil water used for drinking and cooking until further notice.
The E.coli contamination was detected Sunday after water system repairs. Emergency water treatment and further testing is being conducted. Customers will be notified as soon as water samples meet state and federal safety levels again.
Customers are urged to let water heat in a rolling boil for one full minute before use. Other options are to use water purification tablets per manufacturer's instructions or bottled water. Cal Water will reimburse the cost of bottled water purchased during the advisory with customer submission of receipts.
