  Charlotte Hodde   •   (916) 313-4523   •   chodde@pcl.org
Water Policy Specialist

Charlotte was hired as a Water Policy Specialist for the Planning and Conservation League in January 2007.

In addition to learning how to gracefully navigate the halls of the Capitol, Charlotte advocates for responsible water planning and management. In particular, she is interested in adaptive water management for climate change and the protection of the state's public trust uses. Initially, in 2005, Charlotte came to the Golden State as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer to facilitate and write grants for community-based projects, such as alternative energy system development and forest stewardship collaboration. With VISTA, she became enchanted with the expansive Sierra in her backyard and the "facilitation" process.

Charlotte graduated from Hamilton College with a concentration in Biology, after completing her senior thesis project, a species introduction plan for rare Lepidoptera. The following summer, during an internship at The Nature Conservancy in Washington D.C., Charlotte realized that she enjoyed talking to people more than butterflies, and she also discovered her conviction to influence the political realm from her scientific foundation. Before EUREKA became her state motto, Charlotte lived in Wyoming, and worked for the Jackson Hole Land Trust.
