Comment Period Extended to January 14, 2008

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) has released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) for the Monterey Amendment to the State Water Project Contracts, including the Kern Water Bank Transfer and associated actions as part of a Settlement Agreement (Monterey Plus). 

This Draft EIR addresses the environmental impacts of changes to the State Water Project (SWP) operations that are a consequence of the Monterey Amendment and the Settlement Agreement.

It also discusses the project alternatives, growth inducement, water supply reliability, as well as potential areas of controversy and concern.
